Kardamyli is on the south coast of Peloponnese, Greece. It is small peaceful village with scenic beaches and a starting point for trekking through olive groves and desert shrub lined gorges.
The view from our one bedroom apartment/hotel. We actually had a separate bedroom and dining room plus two balconies!
The streets of the sleepy town
The rocky beeches where we dipped our tired feet after hiking
First night's sunset from our balcony
View from the trail leading out of town. The trail started on the same street as our hotel. Much of the path was ancient cobblestone walking paths between villages.
Graham on the hunt for some Kalamata olives.
Viros Gorge, we hiked a ways along the ridge and then dropped into the gorge to hike the riverbed back to town.
Some old remnants of a water mill
The long ago dried up riverbed had some huge boulders to navigate.
The narrow walls of the gorge
Second night's sunset, well enjoyed with some olives and beers after 7 hours of hiking in the Sun.
